KARL VILIPS SHINES IN THE US

SAJG member Karl Vilips recently competed in the 2011 Callaway World Junior Championship in San Diego. Karl finished tied 13th overall in his age division (Boys 9-10), a great performance as Karl is still only 9 years old and has another year left in that division. The 3 times Rory McIlroy played in this event, the 7-8's (once) and the 9-10's (twice), he finished 8th, 36th & 3rd respectively. Our own Jason Day is a past winner of this tournament back in 2004.

Karl's big chance comes in 2 week's time at the US Kids World Championships at Pinehurst. He won there in 2009, but the attraction of that tournament is the individual age groupings that sees over 100 competitors in every single age division.
