The Australian team for the Junior Pacific Cup has dominated play on day 1 to move into a commanding position. The team is full of SAJG members and lead by team captain Mitch Sheather.
All players had great performances on day 1, with only one foursomes match halved....all other matches went the way of the aussies.....to lead 5.5 to 0.5.
The team comprises Mitch Sheather, DJ Loypur, Sean Ong, Lucas Herbet, Montana Strauss and Julienne Soo. Montana and DJ have both come of strong weeks at the Australian Amateur and will carry that form into this event.
With Day 3 now complete, the Australian team has won the Junior Pacific Cup 10.5 to 7.5. The US team mounted a fightback on the final day, but the deficit was too great. Congrats to the team on a great win.
The 2012 Series teed off at beautiful Metropolitan GC in very hot conditions. The heat didn't deter the SAJG Signature Tournament winner, Brett Coletta from Sandhurst, who returned a fine 69 to take out the event by 3 shots over Zach Murray from Wodonga.
Division A winner was Kono Matsumoto, whilst Div B points were shared between Connor Brodrick and Ellen Pollock. Jaz Gardner was too strong in Div C with 42 points.
With the pending amalgamation of SAJG with Golf Victoria, the structure for a joint junior membership is currently under review. As such there is no membership form or information on our website as in previous years.
For entry purposes, all current (2011) SAJG members will be carried forward until the new structure is finalised. Our apologies for any inconvenience.
